In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 โ€“ Good Health and Well-Being, North Valley College Foundation, Inc. (NVCFI) actively promotes student access to sexual and reproductive health information and education through its Gender-Responsive Curriculum and Maternal Health and Safe Delivery Seminar. These initiatives underscore the institutionโ€™s commitment to fostering holistic well-being and health literacy among learners. By integrating gender-sensitive education across disciplines and organizing targeted health seminars, NVCFI ensures that studentsโ€”especially women and gender-diverse individualsโ€”are equipped with accurate, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive information that supports informed decision-making and empowers them to uphold their reproductive rights.

The Gender-Responsive Curriculum, guided by CHED Memorandum Order No. 1, Series of 2015, embeds gender and health awareness in academic instruction, creating a learning environment that values inclusivity, equity, and respect. It encourages open discourse on sexual health, consent, and reproductive justice while providing access to campus-based health services and Gender and Development (GAD) Offices. Meanwhile, the Maternal Health and Safe Delivery Seminar, conducted by Level 4 nursing students, enhances professional competence through education on safe pregnancy, delivery care, and reproductive health practices. Together, these initiatives reflect international frameworks set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNESCO that advocate for comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education as a vital component of sustainable development.

Through these programs, NVCFI demonstrates its role as a globally engaged institution committed to promoting well-being, equality, and empowerment. By combining theoretical understanding with practical health advocacy, the college not only contributes to the reduction of maternal and reproductive health risks but also prepares globally competent professionals capable of advancing health equity in their communities. These efforts affirm NVCFIโ€™s contribution to SDG 3 by ensuring that education remains a powerful platform for achieving universal access to sexual and reproductive health care services, information, and educationโ€”thereby fostering healthier and more inclusive societies.
