North Valley College Foundation Inc. (NVCFI) faculty members participated in the Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Training for Nurse Educators last September 2โ4, 2024, at the ADFCN Training Center. The event, organized by the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing, Inc. (ADPCN) in partnership with the Philippine Nurses Education Association (PNEA), gathered nursing educators from across the country to strengthen their teaching competencies in line with global standards.
The intensive three-day training provided participants, including NVCFIโs Joseph DC. Maambong, MAN, RN, and Marian Gian Jontilla, RN, with comprehensive learning experiences. Through lectures, panel discussions, curriculum mapping workshops, assessment design activities, and simulated teaching demonstrations, educators were equipped with practical tools to align nursing education with measurable student outcomes. The program emphasized learner-centered design, accountability in competencies, and continuous curriculum improvementโprinciples crucial to producing globally competitive nursing graduates.
Beyond technical skills, the training fostered collaboration among institutions, empowering nurse educators to embrace transformative teaching methods. This initiative directly supports the goals of UNESCOโs Education 2030 Framework for Action, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 4 on ensuring inclusive, equitable, and quality education. By advancing faculty development, the training contributes to producing highly competent clinical instructors and future-ready nurses, further strengthening the academic standards of North Valley College Foundation Inc.
