Last November 22, 2024, students of North Valley College participated in an Anti-Bullying Seminar organized by the Guidance Council as part of its ongoing Mental Health Awareness Campaign. The event aimed to promote a safer and more compassionate school environment by addressing one of the most pressing issues affecting students todayโbullying.
The seminar provided a comprehensive overview of bullying, its various forms, underlying causes, and far-reaching effects on individuals and communities. It also discussed preventive measures and highlighted the Philippine governmentโs initiatives to combat bullying in schools. Serving as the seminarโs resource speaker, Maโam RN Nazaren Banlawi, Guidance Counselor of the SHS Department, emphasized the core values of kindness, respect, and empathy as essential tools in preventing and addressing bullying. She reminded everyone to remain conscious of how their words and actions affect others and urged students to take an active stand against any form of bullying.
The event concluded with a symbolic pledge, as students, faculty, and facilitators raised their right hands to commit themselves to creating a culture of respect and compassion. Together, they vowed to stop bullyingโnot only within the school campus but also in the wider community.
