On September 30, 2024, North Valley College Foundation Inc. celebrated its 35th Foundation Day with a vibrant focus on Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11). The event brought together students, faculty, and staff in a day dedicated to fostering community spirit and collective responsibility for sustainable development.
The celebration opened with SSC President Abdulmahdi Ibrahimโs special reading of NVCโs history, highlighting the institutionโs role as a pillar in the local community. Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mylyn April S. Babol, RN, MAN, delivered an encouraging message emphasizing the importance of building inclusive, safe, and resilient communities through education and shared values. A key highlight was the colorful Fun Run, where participants journeyed from NVC Gate 2 to the PAG-IBIG Fund Building, passing through vibrant color stations representing various departments.
This event symbolized the unity and interconnectedness essential to thriving communities. The collective energy and teamwork exhibited during the run demonstrated NVCโs commitment to nurturing a campus culture that values collaboration, inclusivity, and respectโcore principles in creating sustainable communities where everyone feels empowered and supported. The festivities ended with a dynamic Grand Zumba session and engaging games that encouraged social bonding and active participation among students and faculty alike. These activities promoted well-being and strengthened relationships, fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
