On March 1, 2025, student leaders from North Valley College Foundation, Inc. (NVCFI) joined forces with the Kidapawan City Collegiate Federation (KCCF) in a purposeful tree planting initiative aimed at revitalizing local landscapes and promoting ecological sustainability. Far more than a ceremonial activity, this collaboration was a hands-on demonstration of the studentsโ dedication to environmental stewardship and land conservation. Each tree planted served as a living symbol of commitment to restoring ecosystems and protecting life on land. The event gathered students, faculty members, and organizers in a shared mission to improve their natural environment.ย
Participants worked side by side, not only planting saplings but cultivating a deeper understanding of humanityโs role in caring for the Earthโs resources. The initiative emphasized the importance of biodiversity, soil regeneration, and habitat restorationโcore components in addressing land degradation and the loss of vital ecosystems. Through their collective effort, NVCFI students embodied the spirit of environmental leadership, extending their influence beyond campus and into the heart of community sustainability efforts.
This initiative is a strong reflection of Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land, which advocates for the sustainable management of forests, halting biodiversity loss, and restoring degraded ecosystems. By actively engaging in reforestation and conservation efforts, NVCFI is fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among youthโpreparing future leaders to protect the natural world. As the planted trees begin to grow, so too does a long-term vision for a healthier, more biodiverse planet driven by informed, committed, and proactive individuals.
