Student Evaluation of the Project Sidlak: BALABAG OUTREACH 2025

Spread the love

Participating in the SLE Day 2025 outreach provided a valuable opportunity to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-life practice. Working directly with the 183 elementary students allowed us to observe firsthand how developmental principles manifest in actual group settings. Concepts such as emotional regulation, social learning, and cooperative play became more concrete as we facilitated activities that targeted these skills.

I made sure to offer heartfelt and genuine care to every student, realizing that my full presence and support mattered more than the activity itself. Witnessing their enthusiasm reinforced the profound impact that simple acts of kindness have on a child’s confidence and happiness.

The deep satisfaction came from providing tangible support and seeing the students’ faces light up with hope and gratitude. I was reminded that being a Psychology student means extending genuine care beyond the classroom, especially to those who need encouragement the most.

Atamosa, Janice (BS Psychology 4A)

I focused on giving genuine and patient support, which made the small successes of the students feel incredibly rewarding. My most important takeaway was the realization that true service is found in the simple, heartfelt act of being present for a child.

The outreach was a powerful confirmation that my desire to serve is truly genuine, not just a requirement; I felt a deep sense of peace giving my energy to the students. Seeing their genuine smiles in return was the highest form of appreciation, reinforcing my commitment to compassionate service.

My visit was a poignant reminder of the power of connection and community, and the inspiring resilience of the students. It reinforced for me the importance of empathy, encouragement, and recognizing that even small actions can have a lasting impact.

Olila, Rochille Mae T. (BS PSYCH 4)

The experience was chaotic and unpredictable, but it taught me that flexibility is as essential as planning, especially when managing children. I learned how to adapt, stay calm, and manage unexpected situations in real-life facilitation.
