The 14th Social Ethics Society and First SES-CJC Joint International Conference, hosted by Cor Jesu College in Bansalan, Davao del Sur, served as a meaningful platform for fostering academic collaboration and advancing global partnerships. With the participation of Mr. Genaro V. Tanlogon Jr., RSW, who presented his thesis โ€œMen Having Sex with Men (MSM): Straight Men and Their Sexual Hook-Ups with Gays,โ€ the event highlighted the importance of sharing diverse perspectives across institutions and countries. This collaboration reflected Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by demonstrating how collective efforts in knowledge exchange can drive inclusive and transformative development.

Through interdisciplinary discussions and cross-institutional engagement, the conference created opportunities for participants to build strong academic and professional networks. Mr. Tanlogonโ€™s presentation not only contributed to the dialogue on gender, sexuality, and social ethics but also emphasized the value of working together across boundaries to address shared challenges. By linking local research with international conversations, the activity showcased how partnerships in higher education can become catalysts for achieving the SDGs through collective innovation and mutual support.

The conference further illustrated how partnerships strengthen institutions by promoting inclusivity, ethical inquiry, and global citizenship. Mr. Tanlogonโ€™s active engagement highlighted the role of Filipino scholars in shaping international dialogues while reinforcing the idea that sustainable progress requires collaboration among educators, researchers, and policymakers. By bridging local realities with global frameworks, the event advanced SDG 17โ€™s vision of building effective, inclusive, and accountable partnerships to achieve lasting social impact.
