Anchored on its commitment to community engagement and social responsibility, North Valley College Foundation, Inc. (NVCFI) continues to translate education into meaningful action through various initiatives addressing poverty and supporting vulnerable sectors in its partner communities.
Through its different academic departments, NVCFI extends practical assistance to communities: the Social Work Department provides fertilizers to local farmers, rice assistance to women and pig dispersal for solo parents to help economically disadvantaged families establish sustainable sources of income. The Nursing Department supports Indigenous Peoples (IPs) through rice and vegetable distribution while promoting food security by helping community members plant vegetables. Meanwhile, the Psychology Department extends rice and grocery assistance to host families who welcome and accommodate students during their community immersions.
These initiatives reflect NVCFI’s belief that education must go beyond academic instruction. It must respond to real human needs, empower communities, and create opportunities for a better quality of life.
For NVCFI, fighting poverty begins with compassion, but becomes meaningful through concrete action, shared responsibility, and sustainable community empowerment.
